Student Guide to Library Resources: F.A.Q.

This LibGuide is meant to help students navigate the resources available to them from the NSCC Library.

Library F.A.Q.

The library is located on the first floor of the A building across from the Bookstore.
The library email is library@northweststate.edu
The circulation desk phone number is 419-267-1274

Your current NSCC ID is preferred, but we will also accept another photo ID. As long as we can verify that you are who you say you are, we can then bring up your library record using your name.

Current NSCC students can have up to 20 items at one time

Good news!  Starting fall semester 2021, items that are not returned by the due date will be automatically renewed.  The only exception to this isi if 1) the item has been requested by someone else (has a "hold") or 2) if your individual library account does not allow autorenewals because of a  previous issue.  You don't have to do anything to opt in to autorenewals - we take care of it!

IF you still want to renew items yourself, you can do that.  There are 3 ways to renew items (other than the autorenewal feature):

  1. Come to the Library Circulation Desk with your ID,
  2. Renew online through the Library website, as long as the items are not overdue,
    or
  3. Email Library staff at library@northweststate.edu from your NSCC email address

Yes! When you check out, you should get a printed receipt. Also, you will get periodic emails from library@northweststate.edu

Come to the circulation desk! We will need to know at least one of the following: your instructor’s name, the course name, or the course number.

.

Yes, we have desktop computers that can be used whenever the library is open. Your personal laptops/tablets can also be used with the campus WiFi network.

There are two open computer labs in ‘A’ Building, one in A103 and one on the second floor, just outside of the Technology Help Desk in A223. These labs are open during general open building hours, and both areas contain computers and a printer.

Yes! There are actually 6 "Printing Release Stations" on campus that are all capable of color printing. See the separate "Printing" tab on this page for more information.

Yes and No – It's fine as long as the drink is in a lidded container and as long as you are not seated near a computer. We don’t mind people studying or relaxing with a snack, but computers and food/drink don’t mix!
