HUM209 - Humanities and Cultures: Ancient and Medieval Worlds: How Do I Get a Book?

LOCAL NSCC BOOK COLLECTION or OhioLINK BOOK COLLECTION

We have many books on the first floor of A building.  To find these, use the NSCC Library catalog search page here.

If our local library doesn't have a book that will be helpful to you, you can check the OhioLINK online library catalog here.  It might be possible to borrow a book from one of 100 other libraries across the state!

*For more detailed instructions, see the information below.*

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING BOOKS FROM THE NSCC LIBRARY COLLECTION

There are two ways that you can borrow a book from our local collection.

1) Come to our library space on the first floor of A building.

  • Our collection is relatively small, so browsing the stacks is easy
  • The books are arranged using the Dewey Decimal system in the call number
  • Library staff is happy to assist if you need it!

2) Search for what you need using the online catalog, and then request for pickup.

  • Refer to the tab with specific instructions in this guide ("Requesting NSCC Library Books for Pickup")
  • Please be aware that requesting a pickup and actually picking up is not instantaneous - we need some time to process your request.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING A BOOK THROUGH OHIOLINK

1. In the OhioLINK online catalog, click on the title of a book that you'd like to request

2. On the right, click the Request it button

3. A screen will pop up with a drop-down menu, asking you to select your school - select Northwest State CC

4. A "request verification" screen will pop up, asking for your name and N number - enter your information

5. Click the green Submit button

You should receive a message that your request has been successful.  You will receive an email to your NSCC account when the book is ready to be picked up in our library.  Please contact us if you have any issues or questions!
