Criminal Justice: Beginning Your Research

Suggestion: Make a Keyword List

It can be challenging to know where to begin with your research.  A good way to start is to make a keyword list.

  • An example of a keyword list in the box on the right
  • A keyword list is simply a group of terms related to your specific topic and/or within the field of criminal justice
  • Create your list and keep it somewhere so you can refer to it later
  • Once you're ready to access a database with scholarly journal articles or search a library catalog, you can use your keyword list as a starting point
  • If you need help with keyword lists/search terms, contact a library staff member at library@northweststate.edu
