Agriculture Program: Tips for Writing an Effective Paper

• Read the syllabus or assignment prompt carefully to make sure you understand how you will be graded.
• Clarify any questions that you may have.
• Decide where you will find your sources/information for the paper. 
• Determine an organizational method that will work for you.  (Organization at the beginning of a writing project is key!)
• Look at the timeline: when is the paper due, and how long do you estimate it will take you to complete?
• Familiarize yourself with college resources and people who are here to help you to succeed.​​​
