The databases listed here will meet your instructor's requirement for an "appropriate source" for an academic paper.

Academic Search Complete (on-campus access)

Academic Search Complete is the world's most comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 5,300 full-text periodicals, including 4,400 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 9,300 journals and a total of 9,810 publications.

Electronic Journal Center
Full text of over 10,000 research journals covering hundreds of subjects. Publishers include: APA, Cambridge, Elsevier, Oxford, Project Muse, Sage, Springer, and Wiley.

O'Reilly Safari Books
Online access to 40,000+ technical books, videos, interactive tutorials, case studies, learning paths, and audio books from O'Reilly & Associates, HarperCollins, The Pearson Technology Group (including Addison-Wesley, Alpha, Financial Times Prentice Hall, Cisco Press, New Riders, Peachpit Press, Prentice Hall PTR, Que and Sams), Packt, and other publishers and learning providers.

You will need to create an account in order to fully use the eBooks in the O'Reilly Safari database.

Click on the O'Reilly Safari link listed above
Choose "Institution not listed?" when asked to select your institution
Enter your NSCC email address
NOTE: You'll have access immediately, but you'll need to validate your account
Validate Account: O’Reilly Safari will send an email in about 20 minutes
Select the link in the email to validate your email address and create a password
Once you have a validated account, sign In to O’Reilly Safari Books on or off-campus
